Blues Minor

Blues Studies Minor

Delta State University currently offers a Blues Studies minor, with classes beginning in the Fall of 2015.

The interdisciplinary curriculum is designed to offer two tracks of study -  performance based and non-performance based. Students will have the opportunity to learn from existing Delta State faculty as well as visiting scholars, musicians, and artists-in-residence.

Those choosing the performance route will develop a deeper understand of not only how to play the Blues, but what exactly it means to do so. Those choosing the non-performance route will examine the Delta's history, heritage, sociology and art through the lens of the Blues.
